Biologist Dilara Ersoy

Dilara Ersoy was born in Niğde in 1981. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education in Niğde. In 1998, she entered the Department of Biology at Niğde University’s Faculty of Science. After achieving first place, she transferred to Ankara University’s Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, and graduated in 2003.

After graduating, she pursued her master’s degree at Ankara University’s Department of Biotechnology. Simultaneously, in 2003, she started working at Turkey's first Genetic Diagnosis Center, Genom Genetics.

In 2006, she moved to Mikrogen Genetic Diagnosis Center, where she worked as a biologist until 2008.

Since 2008, she has served as a chief at Gen Lab. In 2009, she established the Genetic Laboratory at HRS Women’s Health Hospital, the first private hospital to provide services under the Social Security Institution (SGK) in Turkey, where she worked until 2018. She served as the first female biologist providing PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) services for Quality Embryo Selection to many countries.

In 2018, she founded her own laboratory, the Private Ankara Genetic Diagnosis Center. To date, she has provided over 18,000 amniocentesis-based chromosome analysis results for pregnant women, over 24,000 peripheral blood chromosome analysis results, over 6,000 chromosome analysis results from CVS (Chorionic Villus Sampling),and over 2,000 PGD Quality Embryo Selection results.

For the past three years, at the Private Ankara Genetic Diagnosis Center, she has been conducting Covid-19 tests to detect mutations and measure viral load in the body, providing detailed information on the disease course. She also offers genetic counseling on tests recommended before marriage and prior to having children, including SMA, Thrombophilia Panel, Chromosome Analysis, and Y Chromosome Microdeletion tests. Additionally, by examining Familial Cancer Genetics, she provides information about predispositions to certain diseases.

The Private Ankara Genetic Diagnosis Center, the first Genetic Diagnosis Center in Turkey founded by a woman, operates on Park Avenue in Ankara, providing services with its expert staff and state-of-the-art equipment.
